Breaking: 21-year-old final year student dies in Takoradi

A 21-year-old final year student of Gwiraman Senior High School in the Western region has died after some ailments in few days.

Nathaniel Yankey, whose demise occurred at the Esikado Hospital fell sick in school and returned home upon failure on the part of the authorities to send him to his mother.

Angel FM’s Western regional correspondent, Nana Fynn, reporting the incident on their evening bulletin, monitored by Ghanasonline.com revealed the authorities were earlier told by mother of the deceased to send him to hospital.

Nathaniel, after taking the drugs for some time without any improvement on his condition, asked to be sent home which the staff refused.

He said they encouraged him to keep taking the drugs administered to him at the hospital and he would get better.

He escaped to the house without exeact to seek proper medication when he couldn’t bear the pain he was going through.

The report adds that, Master Yankey was quickly rushed to the Esikado hospital in the Sekondi Takoradi metropolis the moment he got home when he couldn’t even stand properly.

Without knowing what was really wrong with Nathaniel, the hospital authorites isolated him to monitor his condition for five days within which he passed on.

An interview, granted by mother of the deceased to Angel News indicated the teachers never called to find out the condition of Nathaniel after leaving campus.

The mother, blames the school authorities for her son’s death.

“I told the teacher to come home with my son but he told me he will be fine after taking the medication given to him at the hospital”

“And now my son is dead”, the bereaved revealed.
