The Ghana Police Service has reported the murder of one of its officers at his residence in Accra.
“Police Officer No.54286, Abdul Rashid of the Police Headquarters Counter Terrorism Directorate, died of gunshot wound inflicted on him at his residence at Abeka Lapaz, Accra,” the Police Service tweeted on its official Twitter page.
“The incident which occurred yesterday, 19th July, 2020 is under investigation, to unravel the circumstances leading to his death and who killed him,” the tweet adds.
According the police, “the pistol, which is believed to have been used is in police custody.”

“A sister of the deceased, 21 year old Shakira Nasir who resided with the deceased and was present at the time of the incident is also in police custody, assisting with the investigation, the statement concluded.
