Flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga has said he will spend the first night of his tenure as president in jail.
He said he’ll walk to a nearby police station and ask them to let him spend his night at the cells the moment he’s sworn in as president.
In an interview with Joy News closely monitored by Ghanasonline, the comical presidential candidate revealed that will be his way of curbing the incessant corruption in the country.
“I would want to send a signal to everyone in the country that if the president can even sleep in jail, then everyone else can sleep there. So it doesn’t matter who you are, you’ll be put in jail if you indulge in corruption”, he indicated.

Hassan Ayariga asked Ghanaians to vote for him massively without thinking they will be wasting their votes come December.
Mr. Ayariga is confident of amassing 75 per cent of the December polls if Ghanaians come together to halt the reshuffle between the NDC and NPP to demand a third force.
His comments followed his popular acclamation by the party to lead them ahead of the 2020 polls.
On Monday August 24, 2020, the party held its National Delegates Congress.
Theme for the congress was “Transforming Ghana and restoring hope”, held at East Legon in Accra.
APC also used the platform to elect national and regional executives who will be steering the affairs of the party for the next four years.
