An Accra Hearts of Oak former striker, Gilbert Fiamenyo, has said he used to borrow money from yoghurt sellers to survive when he played for the club.
He said his salary was GHc 450.00 plus some bonuses making up to about GHC 1,000.00 for a month.
He was speaking on Angel FM’s Floodlights Sports on Thursday, September 17, 2020, keenly followed by Ghanasonline.
Fiamenyo told Saddick “Sports Obama” Adams the meagreness of the salary warranted the borrowing from friends who were selling yoghurt.
He further explained they used to beg their colleague players playing abroad for cash to support themselves.
