President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo together with the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo have received the first dose of the 600,000 Covid-19 vaccines that arrived in the country on Wednesday.
The event was carried live on Ghana Television and Social Media for the entire nation to have a view.
The exercise, will include a similar one by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and wife, Samira Bawumia and is aimed at boosting public confidence in the new vaccine procured for the citizens.
The President took his vaccine jab at the 37 Military Hospital, whilst the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and wife, Samira Bawumia, will be vaccinated at the Police Hospital.
A lot of controversies have come up following the arrival of the vaccine and conspiracies surrounding it.
This has caused many to oppose the dose saying it will have serious ramifications on their health.
However, President Akufo-Addo during his address to the nation Sunday, February 28, 2021 indicated the vaccine will not alter the DNA of people, urging the citizenry to trust the Food and Drugs Authority on the vetting and acceptance of the vaccine.
This, he said is the reason the First and Second families are leading the course to demystify the conspiracies surrounding the vaccine.
