“1. Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he gat no heat. 2. Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat. 3. So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king. 4. And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king knew her not.”
The above scripture, from the book of 1 Kings 1: 1-4, is what Blessed Godsbrain Smart is considering as a basis to add ‘beauty’ to Ghana’s health system to aid people recover from stress and other related ailments.
Speaking on the Smart Show on Smart TV Thursday, June 17, 2021, Blessed Godsbrain Smart proposed commercialisation of beauty in Ghana to generate revenue and boost the health system in addition.
This, he indicated, would put the beauty possessed by Ghanaian ladies to use than many reducing it to slay queening.
“When David grew old– in the Bible, they got him a young lady – a virgin with standing breast which eventually kept him warm to stay longer. He didn’t have sex with her. No, that’s not what we are saying.
“There are a lot of beautiful ladies in Ghana going waste in the name of slay Queens. In Ghana, we have beautiful ladies than Denmark. Even though they have fair complexion and long hair but our ladies are more beautiful than them,” he stated.
Mr. Smart outlined some means through which Ghana can make capital out of the beautiful ladies, devoid of promiscuity.
Aside from the health benefits that would be derived from beauty, Mr. Smart proposed a policy of indigenous images on both foreign and local products as long as the product enters Ghana, to propagate Ghanaian beauty and generate revenue as well as being done in some Arab countries.
“If lux for instance come to Ghana and they want a lady to place on their product, they shouldn’t use a white lady. It must strictly be a Ghanaian lady so all the products they bring here would not have the picture of a white lady but a Ghanaian. In the Arab nations, you can’t use your own models on your products unless you use a lady from their own country,” he said.
Captain additionally revealed that Ghana can use beauty to reduce crime and also arrest its perpetrators. He said these ladies can be strategically infused in the forces with special training and placed at the exit points of the country to get criminals. This approach he noted, has proven effective according to a research in Korea.
He explained that “there was a research in Korea where they placed pretty ladies at where hardened criminals were and whenever they’re discussing crime and see the ladies, they stop and discuss the ladies instead. Even in our airports, we can train them with our Immigration and Air Force and they’ll arrest the criminals easily [because] no matter how strong you are, you could be brought down when a pretty lady is involved. Eg is Samson in the Bible.”
Let alone, Captain Smart said beauty can increase the concentration level of students in class. He noted the beautiful appearance of a facilitator has the ability to increase the concentration level of students as witnessed at a conference he once attended with other journalists and Ministers abroad.
“We attended a conference outside the country and whilst the facilitators were speaking, almost all the ministers were pressing their phones and others dozing off and all. Then all of a sudden a pretty young lady gorgeously dressed with a nice perfume entered and the entire room became silent with maximum concentration on her. Nobody touched his phone again because the lady was so beautiful that you wouldn’t want to look elsewhere whilst she speaks. And after the meeting, her complimentary cards got finished in no time so people had to pull paper and pen for her to write on,” he shared.
So using beauty to make children concentrate in class according Smart would also create employment as many of such ladies would be employed by the Ghana Education Service.
In addition to the above is creation of tourism with beautiful ladies. He explained that, the beautiful ladies could be dressed with Ghanaian artifacts for people to pay and watch just as it was seen in the popular “Akwaaba” picture framed with a lady in kente regalia.
“Nobody is thinking of how we can reengineer beauty to make money. If a woman can make a man buy business class for a lady to take lead in Dubai, it means beauty is powerful and we can make money out of it. We can dress our ladies nicely to attract viewers to make money. Dress them in kente like that Akwaaba photo we have. What are the tourism people doing?”, he asked.
