4% salary increment: Aggrieved Public Sector Workers declare war on attempts to halt closure of Union offices

The Aggrieved Public Sector Workers-Ghana have sent a stern warning to leaders of the various Unions under its umbrella to desist from impeding their actions of closing their offices.

They say those planning to inhibit their plan should be careful not to incur their wrath.

After government offering a 4% salary increment to public workers, some members at the sector have vehemently opposed the move, asking authorities to provide them their 25% bargain or close down their Union offices.

The group says the acceptance of the 4% rise by their representatives whilst holders of Article 71 have given themselves 79% is a disrespect to the workers who toil to labour for Ghana.

In a statement signed by its executives and sighted by Ghanasonline.com, the group say some of their Union leaders planning to ruin their decision to close down the offices to seek redress, which they’re warning them to desist from or else, face their rage.

OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF WAR ON UNION OFFICES ACROSS THE NATION

Aggrieved Public Sector workers – Ghana is fully aware of the plans the Union leaders are putting in place to thwart our efforts of locking up our own offices for the purposes of redress, instead of channeling their efforts into calling for renegotiations with government which could easily resolve the impass

If we members of an association can not lock our own offices, who else can?

If the owner of a room cannot lock the room, who else can? because the occupants are employees of the members of the association.

We are sending this signal to anyone or group of persons not to dare try to stop us from carrying out our action because if they do, they won’t like the alternative.

If anyone has anything to offer, let it be an advice to both parties, ie government and labour, to go back and bring to the Ghanaian worker at least a surviving percentage of 25 that’s the only way to calm down nerves of the public sector worker.

The 4% is still nothing but an insult to us and we shall do everything within our power to resist it.

This is a whisper to the walls.
