Groom “abandons” bride in church to install Dstv on wedding day

A video with a groom dressed in his apparel on a ladder is going viral on social media.

The man was found installing a Digital satellite dish on a roof.

People have been wondering whether the man abandoned his wedding to do “kpakpakpa”, fix a quick job before going for his marriage.

This created mixed reactions on social media. Whilst some people condemn the act, others commended his dedication to his job.

But speaking with Angel FM’s Kwadwo Dickson, closely monitored by Ghanasonline, the groom, Hannish Affum Atteh said he never abandoned his wife-to-be in church as speculated.

He said there’s an association he belongs to which does that all the time.

“It’s a norm that when you’re getting married, doing a naming ceremony or something, you demonstrate for people to know you’re an expert at what you do”

“My Rev. Father even objected and spoke to the association but they refused and insisted I do it”, he explained.

Mr. Atteh furthered his wife gave him the morale to do what they required of me.

He said whilst they were going to take their photographs, “they brought the ladder for me to fix the dish on the church’s roof”.

The wife, Theresa Adwo Nuertekor Nortey said she was “relaxed because that’s his job”.

“Once they brought the stuff, I told him to go and fix it because that’s what he does to feed the family and I have to support him”, she stated.

The wedding took place at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at Apewosika, a suburb of the University of Cape Coast on Sunday, August 9, 2020.
