Coalition of Floating Voters call on political parties to secure their support for power
Coalition of Floating Voters of Ghana (CFVG) is calling on any political party willing to secure victory in the December polls to seek their support.
The group, formed in 2016 has six million people across the 16 regions, aiming to reach 10 million soon.
“The coalition which started four years ago has over 6 million members and still counting. We have membership in all the 16 regions of the country. Greater Accra, Ashanti region and central region have the largest membership. Our target is to have about 10 million electorates who will decide the electoral fortunes of political parties and hold them accountable when they are given the mandate to steer the affairs of the country.”
At a press conference held in Accra to launch the group Wednesday, November 25, Convenor of the group, Joshua Carl Boateng indicated the group’s purpose is to end the winner takes all system in Ghana.

“The vision of CFVG is not far-fetched, our aim is to help willing and serious political parties capture political power and fulfill promises made to Ghanaians prior to elections, we will also ensure that political parties do not make government offices a haven by employing only members of their parties but use a wider net where all Ghanaians are given equal opportunities to work and live comfortably because Ghana belongs to all of us,” he stated.

He added the group will ensure government creates more jobs to avert the teeming youth unemployment in the country.
Mr. Boateng further expressed their intention to “aggressively put all governments on their toes to fulfill their promise which has over the years become rhetoric.”
Past governments, Mr. Boateng averred have failed their promises, resulting in surge in youth unemployment, making many youth resort to joining political parties to for survival.

“…recent and past government have all failed to live up to expectation considering the various promises made to Ghanaians particularly in the areas of job creation and creating the enabling environment for business to thrive. This has resulted in a situation where the short circuit to enrich oneself as a graduate is to join a political party. For CVFG, this should cease forthwith,” he emphasised.
Putting ‘Ghana first’, CFVG also aims at proper rendering of accountability by all governments to the citizenry.
He urged every Ghanaian, irrespective of your political affiliation, to join them to make the group vibrant.
