Oti Region: Residents abandon polls for farming activities

Residents of Addo Nkwanta in the Oti region have abandoned the ongoing presidential and parliamentary polls to attend to their farming activities.

Angel FM’s Mubarak Yakubu reports as keenly monitored by Ghanas Online.

“As at 11:00 am, no single voter had casted a ballot at the Addo Nkwanta L.A JHS in the Krachi East Constituency of the Oti Region,” Yakubu said.

He explained out of the 354 electorates expected to cast their ballots, none had joined the queue to exercise their franchise, leaving the exercise to engage in their farming activities.

Even though electoral officers have set up the centre as early as 7am when voting started, no single individual had voted or was even in any queue to cast a ballot.
