Transparency, Fairness, Integrity raped by EC at ongoing polls – NDC

The Opposition National Democratic Congress have expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing elections, describing some anomalies as “preparatory flaws“, on the part of the Electoral Commission.

It says “Fairness, Integrity and Transparency which is the motto of the Commission have been raped”, considering the porousness of the process.

At a press a briefing at the party’s headquarters, Deputy General Secretary of the party, Peter Boamah Otokunor, alleged the EC has deliberately set up some errors to to go against the NDC.

Mr. Otokunor indicated different pictures pop up when the QR code is scanned in some instances.

He adds “some ballots were already thumbprinted in the Ashanti region which confirms the Intel we got and relayed to the media during our press briefing yesterday.”

Also, part of the preparatory flaws according to the NDC are the variance in inks being used at different polling stations.

“Because the inks are in different colours, how would you be able to tell if someone brings in a foreign material.

“The EC is also using stamp pad as voting pad which is not supposed to be so,” he alleged.

The Deputy General Secretary has therefore asked all polling agents to be vigilant, to ensure they are not swayed by the process.

“All polling agents must work with the officials. They should be close to them to check everything they do. When they check QR codes, they should watch that the picture corresponds with the voter,” he advised.

The electorates have also been told by Mr. Otokunor not to use the sanitiser before voting but rather wash their hands with water and soap instead.

He said they should use the sanitiser after voting instead.
