Captain Smart reveals brains behind 1982/83 bushfires in Ghana

Vociferous Morning Show host, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, known on the airwaves as Captain Smart, has ‘revealed’ the brains behind the 1982/83 bushfires that resulted to the 1983 famine in Ghana.

The notorious 1983 famine is one historic tragedy that befell Ghana, which is still on the minds of those that experienced it almost four decades ago.

Captain Smart alleged Ghana’s National Security and the United States (US) government masterminded that gruesome act.

Whilst contributing on ways Ghana can rely on her natural endowments to develop like Singapore and other nations, he said the US needed to penetrate the African market by deliberately engineering mayhems that altered the tenets of then stronger economies.

“The 1983 fires that caused famine in Ghana, I’m telling you today, it is America and the National Security that caused it. If nobody has said it, I have said it. Because they needed to change our taste and destroy Nigeria’s economy [at the same time],” he said on Angel FM’s Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ Thursday, January 28, 2021, keenly followed by Ghanas Online.

He indicated “Acheampong’s Operation Feed Yourself was still on the minds of those who were 30 and above. So Backyard Garden was very common amongst Ghanaians then. They then sat down and realised that, it will be at their own peril, if they don’t change the taste of these people. So they burnt all our farms and substituted our maize for yellow corn, our cocoyam for wheat, porridge for tom brown and changed our taste.”

He further noted the US diverted their focus on Nigeria after changing the taste of Ghanaians from their local delicacies to the foreign ones.

“After succeeding, they turned to Nigeria and asked them to devalue their currency. So from 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1986, Nigeria devalued their currency and that was the period they changed Ghana’s taste, which were all machinations by the US government” he added.

These, he noted, subsequently deepened the reliance of these economies, who hitherto were self sufficient due to better economic policies, on the US.

Mr. Smart, who has been hitting on the leadership of the entire continent since the beginning of 2021, admonished African leaders to set up stronger economic policies that will advance their development, rather than allowing themselves to be controlled by unforeseen hands from the Western world.
