If all stations reject me and I’m blocked on social media, I’ll carry a megaphone on my car and roam – Captain Smart
Blessed Godsbrain Smart, the Smart Show host on Smart TV has said he will carry a megaphone on his car and roam about with his message of making Ghana work when all media houses in Ghana reject him, including being blocked on all social media platforms.
Mr. Smart says the leadership need to be put on their toes to appreciate the enormity of the hardships confronting the citizenry, especially the youth.
In a keenly observed “Youth Forum” edition of the Smart Show by Ghanasonline.com, he noted the degree with which money is wasted on a privilege few to leave the masses struggle to survive is worrying and must be condemned by all.
“If all TV and radio stations in Ghana say they don’t want me, facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram also block me, I’ll put a megaphone on my car and roam about because, if the wise keep quiet, fools multiply,” he intimated.
Recent developments emanating from both social and mainstream media brought the culture of silence tag on the ruling government, with many saying those criticising the government are being silenced through various means.
To many, it is either you’re being silenced through the ownership of the media organisation you work with, if you’re a journalist or you’re attacked by what some journalists have termed ‘social media landguards’.
It is based on this that Mr. Smart, who was suspended at Angel FM for making government unpopular through his criticisms according to his boss, has said he’ll keep talking no matter the intended impediment placed before him.
In his usual rants, he noted the rate at which resources are wasted in the country is on the ascendency, citing the grounded wheels at the National Security Ministry which got Citi FM’s Caleb Kudah arrested and assaulted as an example.
“I personally saw the cars in the bush when we [Myself, Kwaku Oteng, Bronzy, Godwin and one other friend] went to National Security. I told them I want to video and they said no but when we sat in our car and were driving out of the premises, we were videoing. These gallopers were brought by Rawlings and up till now, they’re rotting in the bush whilst the police do not have cars to chase armed robbers,” Captain Smart fumed.
He told President Akufo-Addo, that, “if you’re a leader and your government is becoming unpopular, you devise a strategy. Probably you [Nana Addo] may not be doing anything but there are people in the party destroying it so you should put them to order.”
Certain deeds put up by some leaders according to Captain Smart, “make God regret for putting a brain in the head of the Blackman” explaining that, “the African politician wants people to say all is well with them when indeed everything is wrong.”
Advancing his arguments, he stated an amount of GHS590,000.00 is spent on each minister whilst many youth stay unemployed.
“I’m not saying Ministers should not be given what they need to work, but what’s the relevance of the Regional Ministers? Atta Akyea, Kofi Addah, Dzifa Ativor must refund all these monies given to them because they did virtually nothing as ministers,” he alleged.
