Paul Pogba has given some interesting insight into N’Golo Kante
Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba has described N’Golo Kante as ‘the most beloved player in the history of football’ while also revealing that his France teammate cheats whenever they play cards or board games.
The Manchester United and Chelsea stars won the World Cup together with France and Pogba could not think of a better player to have alongside him in midfield.
While he is full of praise for Kante’s abilities on the pitch, he was less complimentary about how he conducts himself in other activities.
‘He cheats a lot. A lot,’ Pogba told beIN Sports. ‘At card games, board games. Honestly, I’m telling the truth. He cheats. He says he doesn’t cheat, but he does. He uses cunning. He’s a smart kid, N’Golo. But it’s okay.
You have to love him. ‘He’s the most beloved player in the history of football. You’ve got to love him, you cannot hate him, it is not possible. He is humble, kind, professional.
He will never complain, he will work. ‘He’s got everything. He’s good technically, with a good passing quality, and he’s everywhere on the pitch. I even say he appears out of the ground! You don’t see him, and — poof — he’s out! He gets the ball, he has the finish. He’s everywhere.
‘To have a player like that by your side, what more can you ask for?’ Pogba has spoken of how highly he regards Kante in the past, describing the former Leicester man as one of his two toughest opponents ever.
‘My toughest opponent on the pitch? To be honest, it’s tough against N’Golo Kante,’ Pogba said earlier this season. ‘Casemiro [of Real Madrid] too… he is a hard one also. I can’t remember all of them; they’re the first ones that come into mind that I had. ‘Yes, those are the first ones. Maybe there are a few more players but I don’t have the names now.’
