Breaking: NDC’s Benyiwa Doe dies at 71

News coming in indicate that a former Central Regional Minister and staunch of the National Democratic Congress has passed on at age 71. 

Ama Benyiwa Doe, was one of the most vociferous women in the history of the umbra fraternity, whose impact was gravely effected from the commencement of the Fourth Republic till the Prof. J.E.A Mills’ tenure.

According to sources, she died in Tema at the early hours of Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Ama Benyiwa-Doe, christened Comfort Saah, was born in 1950 and hails from Gomoa West in the Central Region of Ghana.

She served as a legislator for Gomoa West from 1992 until 2004, when she was defeated by Joe Kingsley Hackman. She continued to work for the NDC as National Women’s Organizer.

In January 2009, she was nominated by President Mills as the Central Regional Minister and also served as a member of the Pan-African Parliament.
