‘I got relieved after hearing the news’ – Stonebwoy shares initial reaction to Shatta’s shooting incident

Afropop, Dancehall and Reggae artiste, Stonebwoy, has shared “I got relieved after hearing the news” that Shatta Wale’s shooting incident was a hoax.

Livingstone Etse Satekla, as he is officially known, noted he got relieved because he didn’t believe the story and prayed it not to be true as it eventually turned to be.

Knowing the calibre of Shatta Wale in the industry, Stonebwoy noted he is not a soft nut to be easily cracked considering the weight of the circular that was flying on the airwaves.

His interest, he noted, was for his brother, to be okay and wasn’t interested in the stories that followed the whole incidence.

CEO of the Burniton Music Group was speaking with TV3’s Cookie and Captain Smart on the Friday November 5, 2021 edition of ‘Maakye’ on Onua TV/FM, keenly followed by

“I was chatting a senior man and he hinted me and I said I have to check so I realised it was serious when my wife had tweeted.

“I’m an artiste and I’m on the street as well so things weren’t adding up and I didn’t believe. First, I didn’t want such bad thing to happen to him [Shatta]. Secondly, things weren’t adding up looking at how solid he is and there is no space around him. So when I realised later it wasn’t true, I became relieved. I wasn’t interested in the stories inside but the fact that he was safe,” Stonebwoy disclosed.

When asked how he responded to his colleague’s arrest, he revealed the legal teams of the Burniton Music Group and Shatta Movement are close and had a good engagement.

Meanwhile, the 2015 BET Best International Act, Africa Category, jokingly said he hasn’t visited Shatta Wale yet after his release because he is not on the sick bed.

“I haven’t gotten time to visit him yet but he is not a patient [laughs]. He knows what’s going and I know what is coming. He is my Shattara, Commander one,” he hailed.

Shatta Wale was arrested on the night of October 19, 2021, after he turned himself in. The police had been searching for him for over 24 hours before his arrest.

The “Ayoo” hitmaker had faked his shooting incident to coincide with a prophecy by a prophet named Stephen Akwasi Appiah.
