‘Reshuffle yourself, let Bawumia take over’ – Captain Smart tells Akufo-Addo

Onua TV/FM’s ‘Maakye’ host, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, aka Captain Smart has asked President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reshuffle himself for his deputy to take over.

He says the state of affairs clearly indicate the president is “tired” and needs some time off duty for the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to assume command.

Mr. Smart, whilst ranting on his show Wednesday, February 9, 2021, averred the president would have a refreshed memory to retake his position after two months for the Veep to also go on leave.

“He should reshuffle himself. They’re tired. Their brains are tired. He should go for a two months leave for Bawumia to take over. After that Bawumia too should go,” he indicated.

Additionally, the broadcaster asked that the presidency undertakes a reshuffle of its ministers within the next four months in order not to foil the reputational diplomacy of the government.

This, he said, is due to the incessant disappointment by government that has shielded the intermittent good deeds of this administration.

“If Akufo-Addo doesn’t reshuffle his ministers within the next four months, he won’t even get followers when he’s travelling”

“The rate at which you’re disappointing yourself is serious. Due to that when you do something good, people don’t even want to listen. Dan Botwe [for instance] says the MMDCEs are going to be monitored with a mechanism they’ve adopted which is a good thing but people aren’t listening.”

“He [Akufo-Addo] needs to call an emergency cabinet meeting and inform all his ministers to stop talking like he told the Agric. minister because the shame is too much” he said.

Mr. Smart was commenting on the U-turn the Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako Atta made on converting all toll booth centres to public urinals.

The minister had earlier indicated the booths are going to be turned into places of convenience for motorists following a concern raised by the National Roads Safety Authority to pull down the structures for the safety risks they pose.

But the minister, after the public backlash that accompanied the comments retracted the statement saying it was merely a proposal.
