“Asiedu Nketia is from Ivory Coast” – Abronye DC
Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Adjei, aka Abronye DC has disclosed the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia is from Ivory Coast.
He says General Mosquito’s roots are from Ivory Coast and shouldn’t have meddled in Ghana politics but the plebiscite makes him a citizen.
Abronye was speaking on Angel FM’s evening news with Kofi Adomah Nwanwani.
His comments stem from allegations by General Mosquito, saying Abronye DC is not from Ghana.
In an audio played on the news, General alleges Abronye is a foreigner who has been adopted by Nana Obiri Boahen as his nephew.

Therefore, he Abronye should have been prevented from registering instead of the people they [NPP] are tagging foreigners.
But Abronye claims it is rather General Mosquito whose roots are traced from Ivory Coast.
“I dare him to come and challenge me in 24 hours. Bring his mother’s obituary at Seikwa, all his family members are from Ivory Coast”
“The mother’s funeral invitation are full of Ivorians. Ask him what those in the area told him when he was coming in 1992”, Abronye alleged.

“Bussing” of people
Some misunderstanding ensued at Bongase Lapla, a community at Banda Ahenkro in the Bono region of Ghana, over the nationality of some people partaking in the Electoral Commission’s Voters’ registration exercise.
According to the NPP, the Bongase Lapla residents are from Ivory Coast because some of them reside beyond the Bui river.
Meanwhile, the NDC say they’re Ewes who have migrated to the area, engaging in fishing over the years, hence, have every right to register as citizens.
Videos of General Mosquito, some people in a Kia truck and some military men who were impeding registration of the bused people went viral on social media earlier in the week.
These people according to General are legitimate citizens who have every right to register but are being denied their rights by Prez Akufo-Addo and his thugs, tagging them as foreigners.
That notwithstanding, Abronye reiterated “if you want someone who is not a Ghanaian and shouldn’t have involved in Ghana politics, it should have been Asiedu Nketia.”
When asked whether he will do a DNA test to prove his roots as challenged by General Mosquito, Abronye said “he [Asiedu Nketia] should rather do DNA to confirm whether his kids are his.”
