Drunkards Association prez ‘denied’ voting at Cemetery polling station

President of the Ghana Drunkards Association, Moses Onyah, aka Dry Bone, could not cast his ballot at the just closed polls in his constituency.

Mr. Onyah, who spoke with Angel FM’s Kofi Adomah Nwanwani at the Cemetery polling station of the Ablekuma West constituency said his name had already been ticked when they checked the register.

According to Dry Bone, “my name had already been ticked when I got here. After checking on the verification device, it also showed I had voted already”.

“I joined the queue for an hour” and all these anomalies happened. “So I waited for 3 hours and they restarted the device but it still showed I have voted.”

He suspects some ghosts might have voted for him because their polling station is a cemetery.

“I came with this old man and both of us could not vote. I don’t know if the ghosts have voted for me because the polling station is cemetery,” he wondered.

Mr. Onyah further suspects the EC might have disenfranchised him because of his status.

“I don’t know if they deliberately planned to deny me from voting because I am the president of the Ghana Drunkards Association”, he alleged.

He adds he’ll consult his executives to plan a demonstration against the EC.

“I’ll meet with my cabinet and Chief of Staff to organise a demonstration against the EC. The election in this constituency is not credible.

Meanwhile, the Presiding Officer of the polling centre told Kofi Adomah they encountered some challenges with their device but fixed it afterwards. Meanwhile, “he was not here when the EC official came to fix the device.”

But, Mr. Onyah said “what the officer is saying is not true,” and insisted the device indicated he had voted already after being restarted three times.
