The Dampare Effect; ‘I was about to commit a crime but feared I would be arrested’ – Nigel Gaisie confesses

Prophet Nigel Gaisie has said the problems of Ghana should be attributed to poor leadership.

The Founder and leader of the Prophetic Hills Chapel says if the leadership of the country act properly to enforce the laws, the citizens will be abiding.

His comments come on the back of a crime he nearly committed but stopped upon a second thought.

Whilst driving from his house at East Legon to Onua TV studios Monday, October 25, 2021, Prophet Gaisie said he had an intention to jump the traffic but stopped because of Dampare.

He noted he would have jumped the traffic like he usually does but considering how Dampare has been arresting people irrespective of their status and influence nowadays, he had to stop and obey the regulations.

The culture of impunity has not been peculiar to only politicians in Ghana but with other popular personalities in the country over the years.

However, after COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare assumed office as the Inspector General of Police, things seem to be changing considering some high profile personalities who have faced and are facing the full rigours of the laws after flouting them.

The likes of Prophet Owusu Bempah, Shatta Wale and Medikal are all facing the laws for various offences which hitherto would have gone unnoticed.

This is what the Prophet of God noted has had effect on his life and expects every faculty of leadership to emulate to bring total transformation to Ghana.

“I used to jump traffic but now I can’t because the head is working.

“When I was coming, I wanted to jump the traffic but stopped and the police said they’ve arrested me. But when they checked they realized I didn’t cross. So the problem we have is leadership,” he told Captain Smart, host of ‘Maakye’ on Onua TV/FM.

He opined Ghana “need a leader like Rawlings who will come and do unpopular things for just  four years” to instill sanity in the system.
