[Photos] 16 feared dead after two buses had side impact collision on Accra – Kumasi highway

Sixteen(16) persons are feared dead after two Grindbird Kia buses had a side impact collision on the Accra – Kumasi highway.
The accident according to an eye witness on Angel FM occured about 1am Friday, February 26, 2021.
Several other persons are also reported to have sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
The eyewitness, a young unemployed nurse told Captain Smart she was asleep when she heard the crash and rushed to the scene to see passengers in a pool of blood.
With the aid of a retired military officer, the young lady said they were ableb to pull some victims out where five and three of them had their heads and limbs chopped off respectively.
The eye witness said the two buses were going same direction and could not understand why they wanted to overtake each other.
Officials of the Ghana National Fire Service and personnel from the Police Service are at the scene rescuing injured persons said to have been trapped in the two accident vehicles.
The Akyem Asafo stretch of the Accra – Kumasi highway is where the accident occured.
